kthx
if i go to a tennis or sports shop, will they have diff types of string for me
and how long wil it take also
Don't get a new racquet. The racquet you use actually used to be top-of-the-line. It's just a few technologies old now.
Any pro-shop will have a certified stringer that will do it for you. You can also take it into some of the mojor sporting goods strores (I know Dick's strings racquets), but not all do. I wouldn't take it into a chain store anyhow, cause they usually overcharge. But you can expect to spend $20-25 getting it strung.
If you want a specific color of string, you should probably go to tenniswarehouse.com (or other online store) and get the strings yourself. Most pro-shops only have a one type of string as a default if you don't bring in string. It would probably be either yellow or white, and a regular synthetic gut string. Right now, the string choice won't really make much of a difference.
If you do pick out a string, I would suggest just getting a standard synthetic gut, or a polyester or nylon string. Those will come in the largest range of colors.
Also, you will be asked for a tension to have it strung to. You'll want to know this going in. To start out, you should probaly just go with the middle of the tension range. Your racquet's range is 54-64 lbs, so 59 would be the middle.
If you go to a pro-shop, you can usually tell the stringer when you need the racquet done by, but it should be reasonable. If you take it to a chain store, it'll probably take at least a week. 3-5 days is a reasonable time to expect it to be finished at a pro-shop.

Should i get a new tennis raquet?
I got a Head Liquidmetal Radical oversize and had that for about a year but i have been playing so much tennis recently (about 4.5 hours to 7.5 hour per week) for a couple of months and started improving lots. I have had lessons each week for about 2.5 years. If you use the american NTRP rating i am somewhere between 4.0 to 4.5. I like the look of the Wilson K Blade 98 and the Wilson K Factor Six One 95 (16×18 or 18×20 not sure which is better). Also the Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex looks pretty good. I was just wondering do reckon it would be benefical to get a new raquet (I am 16 by the way) and would it help my game? Thanks very much for any help and any other raquet suggestions would be great (anything for £140 or less).
i agree with some of the other answers..don't get an oversize because again it's for people who can't generate their own power. the midpluses are great because i feel like you get great control and the sweet spot, though smaller, is much sweeter when you hit it. i reccommend wilsons all the way and from experience (i just recently demoed 8 racquets–dunlops, wilsons, babolats, heads) i'd definitely suggest trying the wilson kfactor ktour racquet (if you're going to demo them). i think getting a new racquet would be a good thing for you. as players grow they need their racquets to grow with them. i just don't think that a player can show their greatest potential with oversized racquets. with the midpluses you'll also get better placement and more accuracy. out of the wilsons you suggested i'd go with the kblade. but i highly reccommend looking at all your options and perhaps demoing a few before making a purchase. good luck and i hope this helps!

Which racquet should i use??
I recently demoed the Head MicroGel Radical Oversize racquet and the Head MicroGel Radical Team racquet…
Personally… i didn't see a difference between the two besides the fact that the oversize had a bigger head.. and was a little bit heavier…. Are there any other differences?
i think i am going to go with the Team racquet unless anyone else can convince me otherwise
just some more details
- i'm a male that will be 14 in less than a month
- i like to generate spin with some power… but not too much
-i like to control where the ball is going
since you have demoed them both, now it;s up to you to choose which one is really suitable to your swing style. if you play with more power then you should choose smaller headsize. otherwise if you have slow and compact swing you should get bigger headsize (preferably oversize) and remember to build your muscle with some weight lifting exercises (ask your coach or some local pro on how to do this exercise). once your muscles are built and you can generate more power on your own (you'll notice that you hit more ball out of bounds while using oversized racquet), then it's time to move to smaller headsize racquets. hope it helps
