Ektelon Model D Upgrade video

Thanks for your interest in the video. The video demonstrates a conversion kit to install Gamma racquet mounting arms on Ektelon Model D stringers. The conversion allows 110 oversize racquets to be mounted on the model D and eliminates racquet damage that can happen when using the original Ektelon mounting posts.

Tennis racket headsize question?

I have a 105 sq inch midplus size racket and switching to another racket, there’s two sizes for the racket one is a midplus but 100 sq. inch head, which is smaller, and the other one is 110 sq. inch oversize, which is bigger. which one should I get? the racket I’m getting is a prince 03 shark b.t.w.

If are young and getting better go for the 100, if you are getting weaker andor older go for 105 period

Need racquet buying advice. ASAP!?

Okay, so I’m pretty new at tennis. As such, I’m not really quite sure what I’m looking for in a racquet. However, I do know that I tend to hit the balls pretty hard. (I still keep them within the court most of the time though!)

Because I hit so hard, I ended up breaking my first racquet just from normal play. It was a pretty cheap one. (About $40)

You can see it here.

Well, I was thinking of replacing it with a Prince O3 Hybrid Hornet OS.
http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Prince_O3_Hybrid_Hornet_Oversize/descpageRCPRINCE-PO3HHO.html

I’m pretty sure that the Hybrid Hornet will suit my needs.

However… Thanks to Black Friday, I found a sale that is offering a Prince O3 Silver OS for pretty cheap. The racquet seems very good and I think it may be as good or better than the Hybrid Hornet. But I’m worried about whether or not it will provide me with too much power. (This Silver has a head size of 118 sq in, whereas the Hornet has a head size of 110 sq in)

So, for any of you out there that are experienced with tennis… Could you please compare the Hybrid Hornet and Silver for me and let me know which you think would be better for a newish player that tends to hit hard?

Also, if I get the more powerful racquet, would I probably be able to adjust to the added power? Or would it just mess up my game?

I have had several friends get racquets at www.justtennis.net – they know what they are doing and in the special deal pages have a good selection of lower price racquets.

You want a lower power racquet so you can learn the stokes. If you get something like the O3 Silver it is too powerful for you to take a big swing. You will just learn to poke at the ball. Get something like the MicroGel Radical.

Tennis Racket for 12 year old girl? Is this one ok or ?

How do I know what grip size? Does it matter? If not this racket, do you have any suggestions?

http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Triple-Threat-Oversize-Racquet/dp/B0034BJI8M/ref=pd_ts_sg_40?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods

im 14 and i just started tennis lessons. since im small for my age, my teacher told me to get a racket that was somewhere around 3/4or 3/8 and that took look for L2 on my racket. My mom and just went to a local target and tried looking for L2, but we didn’t see it. So just got a Venus and Serena Williams tennis racket that was pink and white and oval shaped. not until we opened the racket, did we find the L#, but instead of L2, i got a L00. But its light weight and super easy to use.
So if you have a target, go there, cause i got mine for about $20. CAUTION!!!- the handle is white and it get pretty dirty pretty fast, but mine some how has turned blue in some places. My dad said that it might be the acid in my sweat that’s dis coloring, but it could also be my baby sister coloring on it!!! Hope this goes well for you!! Good luck! :)

So Which type of racquet should I get? (Prince O3 Hybrid Hornet)?

I can not demo a racquet where I live, so I did extra research around.
I decided to go with the Prince O3 Hybrid Hornet.
Now Should I go with the midplus or an oversized one?

My level if I had to give me one would be at 3.0
My old racquet had a head size of 100, but I had trouble making good contact or missing the ball completely, but I got use to it a little later.
I preferably hit flat and slice sometimes topspin, but not often.
Anyone own either racquet types? Share some pros or cons?
Thanks!
I did start with an oversize racquet, but the frame broke after 4 months of playing. Then I moved to a regular 100 Headsize racquet, but it was hard to get use to it.

So should I stick with a regular like currently or go with an easier headsize?

I would urge you to stick with the smaller headsize, and get the midplus. Especially if you are serious about wanting to improve your game. 100" isn’t -that- small anyhow.

The reason is this: The difficulty you are having with finding the sweet spot of your current 100" frame indicates that you aren’t very consistent with your form. There’s two ways you can approach fixing this. The first is to take note of this fact, and then focus on improving upon it. Or, you can buy a frame that minimizes the effect of the problem.

But there’s a flaw with the second option: you are just covering up the issue, rather than addressing it. This is fine for a typical recreational player. But if you want to improve, you need to actually address the issue and fix it, rather than just covering it up, and get the smaller head size.
