Best choice for a beginner?
<< Tennis Express Products Show Powered by Tennis Week #114 MTV Cribs Mike Dawson Part Two >>Being new to tennis, I dont know much about rackets so when I wanted to start playing I went to sports authority and I was helped by a somewhat knowledgeable employee who recommended the Prince TT Scream Oversize. It was on sale for $50, but I was wondering if this was a good choice for a beginner or if there is a better choice in that price range. I dont know what info whould be helpful to make a recommendation besides that I’m 5′9" and 220 lbs.
Prince TT Scream Oversize:
Power level: 875
Head size: 110-sq. in.
Weight: 9.5 oz. / 270g unstrung
Balance: 13.4 in. / 34.0 cm
Length: 27.5"
Cross section: 28 mm head / 24 mm shaft
Do not get a 110-sq in. racquet. the max you sould go for a guy is maybe 105-107 sq in. You are going to want a heavier racquet so you don’t get tendonitis in your elbow. Also, you don’t need a 27.5 in racquet. It sounds like that that "knowledgeable employee" suggested was a "beginner" girls racquet. if you are looking for a racquet around $50 i would suggest:

well since ur just beginning, it really doesn’t matter what racket u get, so u can even buy a racket at target for $20
it doesn’t matter if u get a cheap racket cuz if u decide to quit then u won’t lose much money and if u decide to go on, ur gunna need a new racket soon, one with a smaller headsize
